The luxury of walking outdoors

It’s almost a month that we’ve been in lockdown state in Peru. While I hate being cooped up indoors, this is the smallest contribution I can make to prevent the spread of the pandemic. At least I have not the worry about my next meal and basic necessities, and can let my mind wander to places the rest of me would like to go.

Just a few short months ago, baggage misplaced in transit, during a trip to India, seemed like an inconvenience. Once that was sorted, however, I spent the rest of my visit catching up with family and friends, and what a joy that was!

A total contrast to the present day scenario, Dec/Jan was a time of gathering, ringing in the new year, eating out, long walks around the lake in the morning, counting ‘poopy cakes’ with nieces and nephews, and watching the buffaloes return home at sunset.
