It’s the start of the quiet season in Jakarta; the perfect time to re-enter the Weekly Photo Challenge. My heart is still in France though we’ve been back almost 2 weeks. Is it possible to be nostalgic about something not even a month old? I think so. And here’s my contribution to feed that feeling – a Kougelhopf inspired by our holiday in Alsace, baked in a traditional mould (or a miniature version of it):
Served with homemade jam (by Reva), watching La Tour de France last night, oh yes, we were nostalgic!
Please send me the nostalgic recepie!

Aparna, take a wistful of flour, add a lonely egg, drown the yeast in a cup of milk, and remember to knead it well. 🙂
Here’s the link to the recipe that I used: http://debsravingrecipes.blogspot.com/2011/04/kougelhopf.html

Aarti, I used to live not far from Alsace for many years, and remember these Kougelhopfs well! Have you tried making one back home yet to help satisfy those nostalgic feelings? 🙂
