One of my photo-walking friends in Lima suggested we practise our skills at the Ironman race that happened last month. Cecilia’s daughter was participating, which was an added motivation for her to show up there.
I’ve honed my sports photography skills, shooting Souvik at his races in Indonesia. The ridiculously tough Ironman featuring world class athletes certainly didn’t disappoint in light, colours, and photo-ops.
The course consists of a 1.9 km swim in the Pacific Ocean

90 km cycling

and a 21 km run.

I didn’t stay until the end, only up to the interesting shadows.
The editing process was almost as fun as the photography. ‘Coz I took some effort to check the finishing timings of all the athletes whose bib numbers I could spot. And came up with a winner:

Sarah Piampiano, Bib #21, First among Women, 11th overall
I am in awe, not only of the winners, but all people who have the courage and determination to participate and finish!
As always great captures! Loved them!
